Habitat Live in forests - primarily in hilly or mountainous areas from the base of coastal foothills to approximately 13000 feet. During the summer, they most often are found at higher elevations. They stay at or descend to lower elevations during winter. Distribution Live in Iran, Afghanistan, northern Pakistan, east through the Himalayas, south to Bangladesh and Laos, and north through the Tibetan Plateau. Populations may also be found on Taiwan and on the Japanese Islands of Honshu and Shikoku. This population is called the Japanese black bear. Recently, we had two bird families decide to nest wuth us; one in the front yard and one in the back. It became a daily happening for all of us to visit each nest from a distance and check on the eggs.

Two are blue bird nests and one was a family of phoebes. Recently, all three of the nest's babies were born, so we have eight baby birds in our yard. We take such joy in watching the mother care for her babies, while the father keeps guard close by. What wonder to watch the babies double in size in a week and how quickly they will be mature enough to take flight and start there own life adventure.

I've watched daily at how innocent and helpless the little babies are, unable to fend for themselves and totally relying on their mother. It made me begin to think about the beginning of life in general for us all and how innocent we're born. How we too are totally dependent on our mother and how much we rely on the mentors and role models who surround us to nurture our lives and guide us in the right direction.

So, where did we go wrong? When in our life did we begin to remind ourselves of all the past wrongs we've committed, the mistakes we've made or the events that we've failed at? Why do we insist on focusing upon our negative past experiences and the scarcity in our lives versus positive accomplishments and abundance? Because we believe that what happened in our life yesterday, has something to do with today.

That's the sad news but I'm here to share some powerful good news, it's not true. Yesterday has absolutely nothing to do with today, unless you say it does. We were all born with a free will to choose the life we want to live. You are the only person in your life that has that power, the power to create who and what you want your life to be.

The truth of the matter is that whatever you believe is true.

That's right, what ever you consistently tell yourself about yourself becomes your own reality. Now, stay with me for a moment on this thought because I'm going to prove something to you once and for all that will provide you with a breakthrough and tremendous power on creating the life that you choose.

I'm sure you would agree with me that the average person has no problem holding themselves responsible for the past mistakes they've had in their life. They have no issue re-enacting the negative events that they've experienced and bringing them into their present. So, would you agree with me and acknowledge that you do have the power to create in the present, because you're already doing it. When your thoughts are generated by past based negative experiences, your behavior will follow!

The reason why so many of focus on our negative past events is because we believe that our past has something to do with our present. The past based experiences of fear, doubt and anger are what we bring into our present. Our interpretation of the past based events we've experienced are what cause the damage in the present.

What if you could do what is referred to as a "paradigm shift," which means realize that this is not so. That's right, acknowledge that there is no correlation what so ever between your past and how you behave because there is not.

Now, earlier in this article we discussed and you agreed that you have the power to create in the present. We agreed that although what you've been creating has been based on negative energy, you've demonstrated that you do have the power to create.

So, if you have the power to create, just shift what you're creating from negative based energy, to a positive based one. Past based thinking provides self-limited beliefs, while the present allows you to create unlimited thinking.

All behavior is habitual and any behavior can be changed if you first understand why you do the things you do. All behavior is based on thought, so once you shift you're thinking from past based negative energy, to present based positive energy, your behavior will follow. Once your behavior shifts, so will the actions you take and the results you create. It's a process, it requires effort and discipline but you can do it.

So, what does all of this have to do with being born innocent. Well, when you were a young baby and you first decided to try and walk, I'll bet like most babies you fell down. When a baby attempts to walk, they don't associate falling down with failure, only falling down.

You didn't focus on falling down and you didn't make falling down a mistake, it was just falling down. All you had done was fall down, so you just got right back up and tried again................you're present. The present is the only place where you can create the life that you choose.

The next time you have a challenge in your life, slow down and take a deep breath. Be Aware of where you are, get present if you're not, remember that you were born innocent. When you're innocent, the present is full of "unlimited possibilities." Now go and create the life you desire.

For many city dwellers particularly, a garage is a luxury. If you are in the suburbs, the garage can be a place to store little used or seasonal items. Sometimes the garage gets to stuffed with paraphernalia that there is no room to house the vehicles it is supposed to contain. If, however, your garage is an extension of your living space, it's important that it be a place that's pleasant to be in.

If you are considering the most efficient use for your garage, you will want to think about how to keep the space clean and pest free. Garages have some of the same problems as you will find in houses, but they also have some unique challenges in banning those pesky pests that are the bane of our existence.

Typical types of pests that might be found in your garage include insects, both crawling and flying types, and spiders. Common infestations include all types of spiders, of course. Some of these eight legged creatures can be dangerous, others are simply annoying. Pests that fly include the common housefly, as well as wasps, yellow jackets and bees. Related to flying insects are the jumping types, such as fleas. Night flying moths are particularly annoying when you are trying to entertain outdoors at dusk.

Finding a mouse nest in your garage is not a pleasant experience, both because of the smell and the disease factor. The smallest spaces can become a hiding place for a whole family of field mice. In more rural areas, you may find pack rats in a garage which is even less pleasant than the smaller variety of rodent.

Less commonly, you may find other pests in your garage, depending on your location. More exotic creatures that have taken up residence in your garage may require relocation by animal control experts. Some of the unusual creatures that have been found in garages include raccoons, foxes, snakes, alligators, and various other unpleasant visitors.

The type of pest control you will employ depends on your location and the type of use your garage has had and will have. Here are some general tips to clean up the garage area attached to or near your home.

Start with the outside of the structure. Make sure that no dirt or debris is piled against the foundations or the walls of the building. If there are branches or other foliage which rest against the walls or foundations, they can serve as a conduit to crawling insects. A termite colony in the walls of your garage can do major structural damage in a short period of time. Residue from wasp nests and even birds nests under the eaves of the garage can discolor the wood and cause structural damage. In addition, the bird droppings look unsightly.

Seal any openings that are unintentional. This can include spaces around windows and doors, broken panes, or openings under the eaves. If the space is to be used as living or entertaining space, you will need to seal not only to keep pests out, but to provide better weatherization. Use thresholds at the entry doors and weather stripping as needed around windows. If you have a garage door opener and want to leave the door open for entertaining or for ease of access, consider using a large screen in the opening. This will provide for light, while preventing much of the influx of flying insects.

Do not store opened food in the garage, even temporarily. It is surprising how fast a line of ants can find their way to food that is left out. Even dry staples in bags or boxes can come under attack by ants, mice, and weevils fairly quickly. Use food quality storage bins if you must keep food items there, and make sure they are tightly sealed after each use. Spills of food or drink from entertaining should be wiped up promptly to avoid attack by ants, mice, and roaches.

Dampness in the garage can invite a whole different army of pests. Appropriate sealants on walls and floor will help to prevent seeping or water leaks from serving as a home for insects. A doggy bed that is infested with fleas will soon share fleas elsewhere in your home. Treat your pet and their bedding for flea control for their protection and yours.

Overall, the importance of cleaning cannot be overestimated. If necessary to get a jump start on pest control, contact a local exterminator and follow good pest control techniques for maximum effectiveness.

There are about 146,000 retail gas stations and convenience stores in the United States. That's the good news for late-night shoppers and folks running out of gas. The bad news is, many of these stores lack effective pigeon control, which means feral pigeons can pretty much do what they please.

The last thing customers want to touch is a pump handle covered with pigeon poop. Or see the roof or hood of their car splattered with poop when they return with snacks in hand. Theses stores have a pigeon problem because the pesky little birds love to roost in gas stations and store canopies. And they do so hundreds at a time.

Without effective pigeon control measures, this often-neglected nuisance can cost commercial property owners thousands of dollars in maintenance and repairs. Keep in mind that just one healthy pigeon creates an average 66 pounds of droppings each year.ย  If you've got a flock of these birds nesting in your gas station canopy, you're looking at several tons of poop over a short period of time.

If you think the damage is all cosmetic, consider what happened to a gas station canopy in Yuma, Arizona. A build-up of pigeon poop clogged up the canopy's drains, causing it to crash to the ground after a heavy rain. A Hummer and a BMW were smashed in the process. Needless to say the gas station owner's insurance policy went up.

Roosting and nesting pigeons can create an unsightly mess on signage, windows and gas pumps. They can clog drains, block out security cameras and jam doors and windows. They can also wreak havoc with rooftop AC units.

As if that weren't enough to implement aggressive pigeon control measures, pigeon droppings are also breeding grounds for a number of diseases. Fecal droppings in pigeon infested canopies can create an environment for bacteria and fungi spores to grow and multiply. This filth can attract mites, black widows, rats, mice and other vermin.

Consider the problems such an environment presents to a gas station that has a full-service food preparation kitchen. If you've got flocks of pigeons gathering on your rooftop or near air induction vents, these air conditioning and air circulation systems could easily suck in pigeon dander, spores and viruses.

Cleaning roofs, parapets, HVAC, ventilation systems and other roosting sites can aerate these areas and increase the risks of exposure to disease. Gas station and store canopies offer the ideal place for pigeonsโplenty of food in garbage cans and safe roosting areas.

Failure to implement pigeon control measures can be very expensive in the long runโrepairing a canopy can set you back as much as $100,000. And that doesn't include lost sales, city or health violation fees or full canopy replacement.

Some effective pigeon control measures include bird netting, which works to effectively exclude the pests. You can also use chemical fogging systems to drive out entrenched flocks. Both measures are safe to use on pigeons and will save you a lot of grief and expense.
