Dr. Sharpe & Steffani climb into the West End nest on Catalina Island to gather the two chicks for banding. The chicks parents are understandably upset and dive bomb them, but the chicks remain calm throughout the whole process of gathering them and putting them into bags to lower them to where they can draw blood samples to determine gender & contamination levels, measure and attach identication bands to their legs and wings, and a transmitter to their back. They will then be put back into the nest for their parents to finish caring for them until they fledge in approximately 3-4 weeks. These eaglets are part of the ongoing restoration project by IWS.
